- AZIRAPID 200MG ORAL SUSPENSION contains Azithromycin which belongs to the group of medicines called Macrolides. It is used in children to manage infections caused by bacteria and other micro-organisms which include chest, throat, and nasal infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat and sinusitis.
- It is also used to manage ear infections (such as acute otitis media) and skin & soft tissue infections (such as an abscess or boil) in affected children which is also indicated for use to manage sexually transmitted diseases (caused by organisms such as chlamydia trachomatis/ Neisseria gonorrhoea) in the affected child.
- AZIRAPID 200MG ORAL SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in children allergic to azithromycin, other antibiotics such as erythromycin/clarithromycin (macrolides), and/or ketolides.
- Before administering AZIRAPID 200MG ORAL SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if the child has diabetes, myasthenia gravis (a condition marked by weak muscles), heart problems, liver problems (such as an impaired hepatic function), and/or kidney problems (such as impaired renal function).
- AZIRAPID 200MG ORAL SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women since it is used only in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). It is also not recommended for use in elderly patients.
